Malona P. Voigt

Malona was born and raised in northern Germany. She graduated from Smith College with a BA in sociology. Her interest in film propelled her to direct documentaries, short films, and music videos already during school.
Her award winning short film Chicxulub was executive produced by Wolfgang Petersen and has received numerous national and international accolades including Best Film and Best Director. It premiered as Official Selection at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and has since played at over twenty other film festivals. Malona completed her MFA in directing and producing from the School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California and is now working on a feature script.
