Born and raised in northern Germany, Malona P. Voigt graduated from Smith College with a BA in sociology and received her MFA from USC’s School of Cinema and Television. Her award winning short film Chicxulub – executive produced by Wolfgang Petersen – received numerous national and international accolades. She has also produced the award winning Vartan LLP.

Since 2008, Malona has been working with film composer Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean) on projects including the Beijing Olympics 2008, The Extra Man, Shanghai, Starship Troopers, Scorpion King and Le Petit Nicolas with partners like Werner Herzog, John Madden, The Weinstein Co., Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp and Chen Kaige, in the U.S., Europe and China.

Currently she is producing Behind the Score, a documentary series revolving around the world of music creation in the film business. She is also in production with her first feature documentary, following one of China’s most powerful new entrepreneurs realizing the City of Dreams, his visionary Macau entertainment destination. Concurrently, she is writing her upcoming drama short slated for this year.
